The Park Hyatt Hamburg is a renowned 5-star hotel located right in the center of Hamburg, Germany. The hotel is located about 20 minutes away from the Hamburg Fuhlsbuettel Airport by taxi and just a 5 minutes’ walk from the central station. On my arrival, the outside view of the hotel was impressive and I just could not wait to get inside and take a good look around. The hotel is located in a quiet street and the architecture stems from the hanseatic era thus reminding one of historical edifices while presenting a truly magnificent sight with a modern touch. The concierge desk was quite easy to locate and I had barely reached it when someone helped me with my luggage and I was directed to the reception on the first floor. On my way up, I took in the view of the lobby and the offices, and observed the very nice alternations between wood and glass, a testament to the stylish contemporary design the hotel boasts of.
The ambience speaks of quiet sophistication and made me feel like I was in for a wonderful experience. The wonderful Presidential suite is the largest one in Hamburg with around 240 sq metters.
My room was tastefully furnished with a perfectly sized bed and a work desk. The wood work was as exquisite as the rest of the luxurious room. The room also had high speed internet connection and ports suitable for working while travelling. The décor is mostly in wood and the dressing room was fully stocked with the basics, including a chic umbrella which can be very useful in Hamburg. The luxurious bathroom comes with a rainbow shower and a bath designed to make one feel relaxed as well as bath products from L’Occitane, a French brand. Overall, the furnishing and decoration gave the room an ambience that was intimate and cozy, making me feel right at home.
I had a wonderful lunch at the Apples Restaurant and Bar which serves really good food prepared using regional ingredients with a modern touch under the directive of a talented female Austrian chef. Breakfast was an equally satisfying experience and the selection of freshly squeezed fruit juices was like icing on the cake.
The relaxation area is quite large and the sauna, spa and swimming pool are available to guests at the Olympus Club Park Hyatt. Taking a swim in the 27 degrees Celsius swimming pool was truly relaxing and it is a great setting in which to put one’s feet up after a long day. The staff is friendly, very discrete and always ready to help.
The hotel is truly worth every point on its five star and I will definitely come back to explore the other services this beautiful hotel has to offer. As a luxury traveller, if you are ever in the city of Hamburg, you should lodge at the Park Hyatt Hamburg. You will be glad you did.
