Visiting the marvelous city of London can be a treat for both the eyes, but also the stomach. The city has a fascinating mix of tastes and aromas, plus combinations of different world cuisines that together form the London cuisine. For the ultimate foodie experience in London, we decided to try the prestigious restaurant Hunter 486, located inside the luxurious Arch London hotel, a top name in the accommodation sector. Having the privilege to indulge in what could be described as a small feast inside this elegant restaurant, we can honestly testify to the unique mix of fine taste, pleasant atmosphere and perfect service that Hunter 486 has to offer. Receiving the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence for 2014, the restaurant is praised by both visitors and critics alike, receiving numerous epithets and acclaims, while time and time again being assessed as a great place to eat.
Our amazing dinner supervised by Chef Garry Durrant has exceeded all expectations and made a lasting impact on our gourmet heart. Everything started with two starters from the Strawberry Summer Menu – with the globe artichoke with poached egg, hollandaise sauce and dandelion salad offering a nice mix of tastes, as well as the delicious strawberry and quinoa salad with goats cheese and balsamic vinegar – both of which are perfect choices for people choosing gluten free meals. For the main course, we were extremely inspired to choose a roast loin of lamb with eggplant, basil compote and salardaise potatoes, as well as the ricotta, asparagus, pea and broad bean ravioli, with warm tomato dressing and herb salad. The lamb was a veritable treat, while the ravioli mix is truly innovative and a great choice for vegetarians.
Everything we tasted was perfectly accompanied by a selection of warm breads in an Italian or Provence style, while the sweet Drylands, Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough from New Zealand was the nicest addition. For dessert, we also indulged in one of the best Pecan Pies we have ever tasted and an Eton Mess, a perfect alliance of soft texture and fresh strawberry. If you are more of a meat lover, Hunter 486 also offers a mouthwatering, 8oz Scottish rib eye, aged for 28 days, with hand-cut chips and béarnaise sauce. To complete the stylish dining experience, the ambiance and decor perfectly match the fascinating menu and divine taste of the meals. Hunter 486’s unique open-plan dining experience allows the guests to be right in the middle of the cooking process, watching the professional skilled chefs create magnificent works of art. The whole atmosphere is completed by the studded leather sofas and the quirky glass chandeliers.
