If you are visiting Berlin, regardless of purpose, and you’re looking for a hotel that will give you a luxurious experience and spoil you with services of the highest quality, you need to check in at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. The hotel is an imposing tower located in the center of City West in Berlin, right next to the Berlin Zoo. You will definitely not miss such an amazing architecture. Also, it is worth mentioning that it is very close to a major shopping area, so you won’t have to go too far to so some great shopping.
Personally, I was impressed right from the start, when I first entered the large lobby of the hotel. It is paved with marble and decorated with elegance and, at some point during the day, a pianist is performing there, giving a particular mood to the atmosphere. But, the building is breathtaking even before you enter the hotel. It has a limestone surface and 118 meters in height, the architecture of the hotel being made by a German architect in the style of a majestic belvedere, so the views here are guaranteed no matter what room you choose. As provided services, the public Wi-Fi is completely free for the hotel’s guests, only in the room you will have to pay a daily fee if you are not a member of the Hilton Honor club. I was lucky enough to get high-speed complimentary Wi-Fi in my room, although there were times when I loved to work sitting on the sofa in the 1st floor salon. At the second floor I noticed a very nice business center that was available as well, for whoever needed it.
My Room was rather large, with a wonderful marble bathroom and separate toilet, bath and a top notch rainbow shower. It was a truly great experience, as I enjoyed small details, like the Salvatore Ferragamo toiletry products or the high-tech TV screen in the mirror of the bathroom. The bed was a real king-size one, of top quality, so I can say for sure that I slept like a baby. I had a desk made out of leather and wood to work on, with all the plugs I needed, and a Mac computer for Multimedia connected to the TV’s screen.
I also need to mention the amazing Guerlain spa of the hotel. The spa is surprisingly big and classy, with a nice cloud pool that I used as a guest. It is actually very nice to be able to relax after a busy day or recover from Jetlag in such a place. The cloud-shaped pool is indoors, so you can enjoy it anytime you want, without worrying about the weather outside.
I also had breakfast included, served at the classy restaurant on the 1st floor. It had a buffet room with exceptional healthy products, like very tasty and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, delicious Austrian cheese cakes, and a wide selection of fruits and natural squeeze juices. I can really say that here everything is about elegance, in the same spirit of the famous NY Waldorf Astoria. The staff is always smiling and efficient, so I can say that it is more a Palace than a 5 stars hotel, something I could easily call a 6 stars hotel. I will comeback with pleasure each time I’ll visit Berlin.
