The Cavendish, located in the heart of Marylebone, has quickly gained an outstanding reputation throughout the city because of its elegant looks, understated (yet luxurious) atmosphere, as well as excellent dining and drinking offerings.
As you enter the establishment, the stunning decor immediately strikes for its classic feel. The location is also extremely versatile, catering to different social events and settings.
The room upstairs is perfect for an intimate and cozy experience. On the other hand, the environment downstairs offers a brighter and livelier atmosphere. The fine tablecloth, the beautiful silverware and the visually appealing dishes make for a fancy and uplifting environment.
This is a great place where to enjoy great drinks within a really exclusive settings, with the possibility of becoming exclusive members in order to enjoy an even more personable experience of The Cavendish’s well-known quality service and offerings.
The “A la carte Menu” is rich and sophisticated: the incredible sea bass ceviche with ginger, vanilla and Jerusalem artichokes makes for a tantalising and classy starter, alongside the complex and uplifting notes of the house’s best white wines. I love also the Scallops with Smocked Cauliflower purée so subtil.
Entrées include a masterfully prepared veal chop, skillfully sliced right in front of the diner in the best Curnonski tradition and served with as sides of “zucchine fritte” and mashed potato with Parmigiano.
The dinner ends with the distinctive aroma, flare and flavour of the house’s crepes Suzette, prepared directly on the table using the flambé technique. All desserts are little masterpieces.
This elegance of this London establishment is fully reflected within its high standards. A lunch or a diner at The Cavendish is an experience of one of the best offerings within London’s fine dining scene. The menu features fine food made with the freshest and highest quality ingredients under the attentive supervision of Head Chef Alfonso, trained at the world-famous El Bulli.
