Vevey is one of Switzerland’s most enchanting locations. Its beautiful countryside, mountain landscapes, as well as surrounding nature have been beloved and appreciated by many people, including one of the world’s most illustrious actors, Charlie Chaplin, who even decided to spend his final days in this lovely town. A museum dedicated to his memory will open in April 2016 in this very location.
As luxury travelers, if you are looking to experience a pleasant, high-end stay in Vevey, we definitely recommend considering The Mirador Hotel, one of the most celebrated luxury accommodations in the area. This hotel establishment isn’t only extremely well regarded for its comfortable rooms and state-of-the-art facilities.
My junior suite had modern décor and was top-of-the-line, as well as featuring every utility within – even something as simple as a common remote control was absolutely stunning, as it was encased within a beautiful box that improved the aesthetics of the room even more – it’s all about the details. There was a large dressing room and large bathroom, mixing wood and tiles, with a bath, separate toilet and a designed rainbow shower. As mentioned earlier, the surrounding nature is absolutely beautiful, and the landscape surrounding this hotel is certainly no exception. The Mirador enjoys a stunning location where guests can actually check out an incredible view of the nearby Lake Leman, as well as the beautiful skyline that becomes absolutely magical at sunset or sunrise.
With respect to facilities and hospitality, my room was modern and comfortable, with lots of brightness, yet with the possibility to enjoy a more moody environment if desired. The bed was perfect, the space was more than enough, and the services in the room were clean, taken care of and well conceived. In the morning, I went down to get some breakfast in the hotel.
What a wonderful awakening! I was particularly surprised by the high-quality of the breakfast selection, particularly due to the great attention to detail, the quality craftsmanship of the kitchen personnel, as well as the utmost quality of the produce and ingredients that were used to make the meals, from the most simple breakfast staples to more elaborate delicacies.
Even the Givenchy spa facility was really great, thanks to the quality staff and the great treatment facilities available to the hotel guests. I found that spending even just a couple of hours in a great spa facility greatly helps one to regain some energy, as well as enjoy the rest of one’s trip with a newfound focus and liveliness.
It’s worth noting how the hotel staff greatly contributed to a very pleasant experience. Every employee I had the chance to come across was helpful, discreet and impeccably professional in every respect. There is nothing negative to say about the excellent facilities and pleasant rooms that one will find in this hotel, but again, nothing at all will beat its main attraction – the beauty of the surrounding nature that almost feels like a feature of the hotel itself. Among the many ways to get to the hotel, it is possible to reach the building via the funicular, a stunning means of transportation that will allow you to enjoy the view as you go along, admiring the beauty of the surrounding valley thanks to the hotel’s ideally located settings. There’s no noise and no urban hustle, only the pure peace of tranquility and the untainted beauty of nature at its best, as you would expect from the most idyllic Swiss landscapes.
