One of the enchanting things about being a luxury traveller is that you get to experience as many alternatives lives as possible. The Corinthia hotel afforded us the opportunity to experience the services offered by a predominantly business hotel in a whole new way.
The Corinthia hotel is located in the Czech Republic, Prague to be exact. The hotel is located in a quiet area about thirty minutes away from the airport. The vantage location of the hotel makes it a choice destination for tourists and visitors to Prague. The hotel is situated close to the Prague center and it is easily accessible and it has direct access to an underground station which makes it easy to move around the city. The hotel also has many cars with designated drivers for their patrons as well as sufficient parking space for visitors who come with their own vehicles. At the end of our stay, one of these cars was kindly made available to transfer us.
On arrival, we were impressed by the outer architectural design of the hotel and looked forward to exploring the insides and I am glad to say we were not disappointed. The hotel with its 539 guest rooms and 22 multipurpose meeting rooms, 306 superior rooms and 145 business rooms is one of the best business hotels in the Czech Republic. It can be described as a modern tower with 26 floors and a really nice and recently renovated expansive lobby. The furnishing was simple and elegant and the staff was very welcoming.
The Executive Club at Corinthia Prague
We stayed in a executive suite on the 21st floor which was a rather large room of about 70 square meters, quite unusual of Prague hotel rooms. We had a wonderful panoramic view of some parts of Prague. With all executive rooms ans suites you have free access to the Executive Club for more privacy with all the day complimentary food, drinks and business center.
The room came with a salon that had a large screen TV and a well-stocked bar. The two big wardrobes had ample space to contain our luggage and the room also had a state of the art safe for safe keeping of our valuables while we were out and about. The bedroom was large and exquisitely furnished with a top-quality mattress that was very comfortable to sleep in. The large marble bathroom had a functioning Jacuzzi bath as well as a shower and the complementary bath products were from renowned product lines ESPA. The bathroom also had a makeup mirror and separate toilets which was a very good idea. Overall, the room was very clean and housekeeping was at their very best. Just like in every top five star hotel, housekeeping provided chocolate bars and a bottle of water for us as they prepared our beds for the night. Their attention to details was really impressive and it made our stay more memorable. In addition, the rooms have Wi-Fi and coffee and tea making facilities.
Our first day at the Corinthia Hotel, we had breakfast at the breakfast restaurant. The restaurant had large buffets which gave us a wide range of choices and we were also served with freshly squeezed juice, which is not very common in Prague because most hotels prefer to serve powdered juices. In addition, you can also order a nicely prepared omelet which will be made on demand by a show cooker. On the second day, we opted for breakfast at the posh executive club lounge which was a more intimate affair. The options of what to eat were limited but the breakfast was great nonetheless, especially with the addition of an amazing salmon that is not included in the classic buffet breakfast. The cozy atmosphere made the executive lounge feel like a London gentry club and the experience was very nice indeed.
The Corinthia Prague Hotel has many options of where to have a great meal like “The Grill”, and “Rickshaw” restaurants. The Rickshaw restaurant is an award-winning restaurant known for serving asian Cuisines prepared by a Thai chef. The atmosphere is intimate and Asian-themed which makes it perfect for any foodie worth their salt. The opening times are 6pm to 11pm on Tuesdays through Saturdays.
One of the other facilities offered by this wonderful hotel is the well-equipped Apollo Day Spa. The spa is open to guests for an entrance fee, but is free for members of the Executive Club, and it gives you the opportunity to relax and let go of the accumulated stress in a serene atmosphere. The attentive and well-trained members of staff are always available to guide you through making the best choice from the available options of beauty treatments and relaxing therapies. The hotel also has a really good gym and an indoor pool at top 26th floor open from 6:30am to 10pm for a good swim in the morning before a business meeting or a late relaxing after visiting Prague. Other facilities available in the hotel include a communications room with printing, photocopying and fax facilities and an executive boardroom suitable for meetings.
The Corinthia Hotel Prague is an optimum location outside of tourist crowd that provides easy access to the beauties of Prague as a UNESCO World Heritage city.
