“In vino veritas!”, it’s a common sense which dates a few centuries back, as once you drink you immediately notice such a warm feeling that some of your most comfortable fears simply disappear as a little white cloud goes into the wind, and they suddenly become smiles and songs, at least from a cork till the bottom of a glass. We could give our better thoughts to a bottle, as if we were giving a message, in that bottle, to the sea of life.
My good old friend Dean Martin agrees, as love is when the world seems to shine like you’ve had too much wine. So, be sure, does Bacchus, one of my favorite philosophers. And he sits in all companions’ tables, he lies down or simply lies in a bed of roses and happy notes, while music isn’t really going in his right way, but jumping, freely, in the countryside.
Alcohol can make people less boring, happy and friendly, while surely gives food a much better taste. It has so many fantastic qualities, that you often can’t even remember them, once you stop drinking. If you like reading it opens your mind, and you widely see the amazing universe mysteries, or it gives you a slight buzz of inspiration in writing. If you don’t like reading, then drink a glass of wine, and I am sure you will.
If you taste a glass of Berlucchi, one of my favorite Franciacorta wines, you will be sparkling as it is. So light so good. I happened to taste Linea ’61 last December, one of their freshest “made in Berlucchi” fashion wines. I guess ’61 was the foundation year. As it happened for many Italian successful bets during the sixties, the general feeling of success and opportunities, aimed the adventure of creating a spumante which might easily be in a champagne row. The sixties which aimed the Beatles, the young, the industry and the dreaming movies, Fellini and some of the biggest industries in the world, were so proudly innovative! Sure, it took a few years of experience to make a few small American companies born in a garage, with an apple or some square colors as a logo, such as a plate of spaghetti. Even I was born a few years later. The same made a great glass of wine. The sixties weren’t probably a decade, they were like a startup box, which gave Pandora a positive spin. Berlucchi was among them, and came till nowadays with a fantastic choice of amazing sparkling bubbles.
Enrnest Hemingway used to say: “As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans. Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”.
So is for the Berlucchi ’61 line, which counts on a Brut, a Satèn, a Rosé and a brand-new Nature, pas dosé, millesimé.
There you go from the appetizers till a pasta, you can climb mountains of cheese and simply swim in a crispy dessert. I often do so. One bottle makes it all. There are not many wines which can do the same.
As in the Platonic symposium questions were asked while wine circulated, surely no better form of positive sodality has ever been delivered.
During the process of fermentation, chemical processes write down the grapes hundreds of compounds, so they are simply giving the big bang theory a better chance. As you simply should try, back to a little fire, chipping and chopping in a rhythmic song, hold a glass and whisper. And get all of those numb ideas be absorbed in a wine hole. The whole creation theory will be clear in a while, and you can stop thinking about it, and swing in a taste.
As little things are doing your journey and the infinite is a sum of infinitesimal, so please accept my humble suggestions. Try not to make your days as much serious as they would pretend to be, and give your sparkling side a chance. Berlucchi is a good suggestion, then you choose.
After all, please, don’t drive for a while. You can simply close your eyes and live a moment. Even moments are infinitesimal. Live them all.
